At the same time, our institution is endeavoring to make skilling truly aspirational by offering world class infrastructure and linking job roles with future of work.

This Center of Excellence (CoE) in Welding set up in collaboration with Finnish MNC Kemppi, design leader in the arc welding industry, imparts hands on training on various welding technology using state of the art equipment like Robotic MIG/MAG Welding machines (Kuka make robots), IoT based MIG/MAG Welding Machine, Pulse MIG/MAG Welding Machine, Basic MIG/MAG Welding Machine, DC TIG Welding Machine, AC/DC TIG Welding Machine, MMA Welding Machine, Plasma Cutting Machine with Carriage, Submerged Arc Welding Machine with Carriage, Spot Welding Machine, Smart machines with Weld Eye- TWQMS Software. A NDT section with Dye Penetrant, Magnetic Particle and Ultrasonic test facilities; Fume Extraction system for all 24 welding booths; Power Hacksaw and Bench Drilling machines complete the total set-up.
Schneider Electric SE, a leading French multinational company has set-up this Center of Excellence (CoE) in the areas of Electricity, Automation and Energy management through its Indian subsidiary Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd.
It has ten labs - Building & Home Automation Lab (Home Automation Systems); Industrial Automation Lab (PLC & HMI Stations); Building Management System Lab (HVAC Control Panels); Home & Building Installation Lab (Model Installation Units); Assembly Line & Industry 4.0 Lab (Assembly line 4.0 systems); Power Quality & Medium Voltage Lab (Energy Ventilation kits); Industrial Installation Controls & Drives Lab (Industrial Drive Units); SCADA Lab (SCADA systems); EV Charging stations; Solar Lab (AC Microgrid systems).
Among the largest centres of its kind in India, it is capable of handling training in two segments - Smart Buildings & Homes, and Smart Energy. As a member of International Solar Alliance (ISA), Schneider Electric has set up one Solar Technology Application Resource Center (STAR-C) having Renewable Energy Benches with solar panels and wind turbines, among others, to train youth in the field of solar technology.
Set up with the collaboration of Siemens Industry Software (India) Private Ltd. (SISW), a strategic business unit of Siemens AG, Germany, this CoE on Smart Manufacturing has eight Labs - Design & Validation (Siemens NX CAD software); Advanced Manufacturing (Teamcenter and Technomatix software); Test & Optimisation Simcenter; STAR – CCM and NX – Nastran software; Process Instrumentation Simatic – PCS 7 software; IoT (Mindsphere software and Mendix Platform); CNC Controller (Sinumeric 808D & 840D milling and turning controllers); CNC Machining (Turning center and 3- axis vertical milling machine) and Robotics (Pick & Place cell and MIG welding cell). The CoE, capable of training students/professionals on entire product lifecycle management (PLM) has the potential to cater to the evolving needs of manufacturing industry as well.
Tata STRIVE Center of Excellence (CoE) in Hospitality services is a partnership between SDI-B & Tata STRIVE. As an initiative of Tata Community Initiatives Trusts (TCIT), a charitable trust under the larger umbrella of Tata Trusts, Tata STRIVE has been skilling youth through innovations in technology, pedagogy and methodology. This centre is equipped with world class facilities making it one of the most advanced learning centers in India. It offers specialized courses in Food Production, Bakery & Confectionery, Restaurant Service, Bar Service, Housekeeping, and Front Office Operations which covers three broad segments: Culinary Arts, Service and Events, and Housekeeping Operations which caters to the diverse needs of the hospitality industry. The center aims to provide industry-relevant training to students and working professionals in the hospitality sector, thereby addressing the skill gap in the industry.
Plumbing world skill training Centre (PWSTC) is a state-of-the-art training facility established at SDI Bhubaneswar in partnership with Lixil, a leading MNC that specializes in manufacturing building materials and housing equipment, headquartered in Japan and Water Management & Plumbing Skill Council (WMPSC). The center aims to make plumbing a rewarding and respectable profession for aspiring and existing plumbers and attractive enough for youth to join in. It is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, and cutting-edge plumbing technology. The PWSTC provides a range of courses and training programs in plumbing, water management, and sanitation, ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to become industry-ready professionals. With its high-quality training and development programs, the PWSTC aims at playing a critical role in bridging the skill gap in the plumbing sector and creating a more sustainable and inclusive future for all.
from Jajpur is a bachelor’s in arts whose father is a farmer & mother a hardworking homemaker. After completion of his formal education, he got an opportunity to pursue six months course as Industrial welder at SDI. During the training period, he got an opportunity to learn the modern techniques of welding. After completion of the training, through campus placement, he got an opportunity to work with a renowned company M/s FRONIUS INDIA drawing a salary of 33000/- PM.
Is a native of Baliapatna Village, Pattamundai of Kendra pada District, Odisha. He came to know that the SDI Bhubaneswar, is providing a specialized training in Pipe Fitter trade with process planning to the unemployed youth and provides job opportunities after successful completion. He enrolled in the Fitter Fabrication course and under went 3 months of advance training. After completion of training, he was placed at M/s KOSAN CRISPLANT INDIA Pvt.Ltd . with a monthly salary of Rs 28000/- He has shown his gratitude to Skill Development Institute, for providing this milestone achievement.
Hailing from BADAKUAN, Jajpur after completing her Bachelor in Science, came to know about CDA course at SDI through advertisement. She underwent the training for three months with perseverance and utmost sincerity to become a very crucial employee of M/s STATE FORENSIC SCIENCE LABORATORY, Providing professional and technical assistance with monthly Salary Of 31000/-pm. I was a Designer Mechanical student in SDI . Yes, I was one of those students who constantly performed well in class. If you ask me it was fun, studying in SDI with the well trained faculties. Finally I am here in Tata Technologies as a Graduate Engineering Trainee ER&D.
With a million dreams, I had stepped through the gate of this amazing Institute named as Skill Development Institute, Bhubaneswar.
Before joined to this institute, I had worked for a company at Pune as a machine operator for 1.5 year. I was not happy with the nature of my work because of lack of skill training so I resigned and joined SDI as a CNC Programmer Course where I got expertise in CNC course. My experience at SDI helped me a lot to explore programming learning in CNC, Experiential Learning, Projects, Personal Development Programme and Soft skill activities. With the help of great teachers, I enhanced my view into subject to such a depth that I have obtained ample practical experience which helped me for career growth.
After the completion of my course I got campus selection in a MNC industry. Currently I am working in Motherson Group as a Diploma Engineer Trainee.
